Pledge to Finish
I feel badly that I never finished this trip report. I am a massively OCD person and leaving the end off something could possibly drive me crazy for the rest of my life. When I was pregnant and leaving my job at the school, I actually finished this big project I was working on, knowing that I would never use it. This one is even crazier: There was this Old Lady in the Shoe wooden puzzle that my family had before I was even born. The most important piece, the old lady's face, was missing from this puzzle since before I can even remember. It drove me bonkers as a little kid to have an incomplete puzzle. Amazingly, I found the old lady's face puzzle piece at a garage sale! I brought it home and couldn't find where I put the puzzle. I kept the puzzle piece for a few years because I knew the puzzle was probably stored under the eaves of the house with the baby stuff. So this summer I completely cleaned out all the toys and baby stuff, purging and repacking. I found the Old Lady in the Shoe Puzzle. Guess what I couldn't find? The puzzle piece. I absolutely turned the house upside down for two days looking for the puzzle piece. It drove me crazy. A few days later I located the piece in a trinket box on the desk. I can't tell you the peace and relief I feel at the closure of this scenario. I love my family for smiling and hugging me when I excitedly showed them what the completed puzzle looked like. They get me, even if I do drive them crazy! So....it has bugged me to pieces that I never finished our San Antonio trip. It was a great trip! One of my favorite vacations! I am going to attempt to put an ending on it in the next couple of days. I don't remember all the details, but I will write down the highlights.
